James Marsdenis making his way to the affluent community of Westmont Village for the Jon Hamm-ledYour Friends & Neighbors. According to Deadline, Marsden is set for a regular role and is believed to be portraying “a guy who comes from money and has a relationship with Samantha (Olivia Munn).”
The dark comedy centers on Hamm’s Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a former (and recently fired) hedge fund manager who turns to criminal activity to maintain his social status and his family’s comfort. As he begins stealing from his wealthy neighbors, Coop begins to discover that there’s a lot of deceit brewing under the town’s luxurious exterior. Also recently divorced, Coop begins a relationship with Olivia Munn’s Samantha, who wants a deeper connection. Marsden most recently appeared in Hulu’sParadiseas Cal Bradford. While the thriller will return for a second season, it seems unlikely Marsden will, given his character’s storyline.
