James Gunn’sSupermanis probably the most anticipated superhero film in years, and it seems fans won’t have to wait much longer to get the first teaser. Although the film is not set to be released until the summer of 2025, a teaser has been in the works for the past few months, and it is officially ready to go. If the latest reports ring true, expect to see David Corenswet’s Man of Steel on the big screen and online this holiday season.

Colliderexclusively reports that theSupermantraileris tentatively set to release in mid-December and will likely play in theaters in front ofMufasa: The Lion King. This sets the potential release window from December 15 to 20, possibly posted online before it becomes available in theaters. Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet, especially by Gunn himself, but the fact it has not been debunked immediately by the social media-savvy filmmaker is also a good sign (not to jinx it, obviously). Fans speculated that it could arrive during CCXP at the start of December, but Gunn recently confirmed that the DC Studios CEOs would not be participating in the convention.

Nicholas Hoult in Jack the Giant Slayer

Since we already know aSupermantrailer has been finished for quite some time now, it’s not shocking that it will land before the end of the year,as previously reported. What is still unclear is if it will be a full trailer or just a short teaser, like the one that was first released forBarbie. No matter the case, Gunn’s handcrafted preview will have a lot to live up to based on the expectations set by previousSupermanmovie trailers, likeMan of Steel. If the filmmaker can get us excited and hopeful again for a man in red tights and a cape, then he’s done his job.

‘Superman’ Trailer Already Getting Buzz

Although the Superman trailer is not out yet, that hasn’t stopped select people from reacting to the highly-anticipated release. Frank Grillo, who plays Rick Flag Sr. in bothSupermanandCreature Commandos, recently revealedthat he had already seen the teaser thanks to James Gunn. Of course, he does not give any specific details about the footage, but does share his initial reaction to viewing it. Suffice it to say, we’re all hoping we’re just as excited as Grillo was while watching theSupermantrailer.

“I’m not joking, and I’m not blowing this out of proportion,my skin was hot and I had goosebumps. That’s how great it is.”

Nicholas Hoult Says They Have ‘Something Special’ with Lex Luthor in Superman

Nicholas Hoult is a big fan of Lex Luthor, to say the least.

In addition to David Corenswet and Grillo, theSupermancast features Rachel Brosnahan, María Gabriela De Faría, Edi Gathegi, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Sara Sampaio, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Skyler Gisondo, Anthony Carrigan, Wendell Pierce, Beck Bennett, and Sean Gunn. Although fans already got a good look at the DCU heroes and villains populatingSupermanthanks toset photos, we probably should not expect a significant amount of footage in the upcoming teaser. That is, unless Gunn is in the holiday mood and wants to give out a sizable gift, which we wouldn’t complain about.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Superman is the first movie in Warner Bros.' rebooted DC Universe to center around the titular comic book hero. It introduces a new version of the Man of Steel after Henry Cavill’s departure from the role, honoring the character’s roots as “the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way.”
