What’s Happening with Star Wars KOTOR’s Development?
The project is set to release onPC, Steam Deck, and PS5at an undetermined date since its announcement in 2021 (which feels like ages ago) during a PlayStation Showcase packed with big reveals.
Despite the initial excitement, anticipation gradually faded as news about its development either slowed or stopped entirely. The most significant recent update was that Saber officially split from Embracer Group, taking its most important project with it—but beyond that, little else has been revealed.

The studio just announcedSpace Marine 3following the success ofSpace Marine 2, all while working on multiple other projects, includingAvatar, Jurassic Park, Turok, and more.
With so many projects and so few updates, Saber’s creative director, Tim Willits, reassured fans on social media that none of the studio’s games in development have been scrapped.

“Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world,” Willits stated, reminding everyone that the studio left Embracer to become a private company.
“We are working on numerous games across various genres. Everything we’ve talked about remains in active development.
We will share updates on upcoming games as soon as we have something cool to show,” he concluded.

The game has been in full development since 2022, though nothing new has been shown since then. However, these words from Saber’s CCO help ease some of the confusion among fans.
Meanwhile, Saber Interactive’s next game isJohn Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, a cross-platform co-op shooter where players team up with three friends to save the world.
