Sony announcedthe Xperia 1, Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus atMobile World Congress, all three of which have 21:9 displays, the same aspect ratio as many cinema releases.
But that display isn’t just useful for watching content, it is also great for those that love to play Fortnite.

Pocket-lint was told that an exclusive version will support the 21:9 display, along with special editions of Asphalt 9 and Arena of Valor, allowing for a more immersive, wider gaming experience.
Sony’s Adam Marsh from its global marketing department, explained thatFortnitedeveloper Epic Games, plus the studios behind the other titles have all made “specific 21:9 gaming versions” for the Xperia 1 device.
The idea is that players will be able to see a wider horizontal view and therefore have a slight advantage over others. At the moment, only 30fps is supported, though we were told 60fps is coming.
The Xperia 1 also comes with a Games Enhancer mode that will enable users to optimise performance by releasing RAM (there’s 6GB in total on board) to ensure the best possible performance from the device. A Focus Mode meanwhile, stops notifications coming through to ensure no unwanted interruptions.
Gamers also have the ability to search for tips online whilst playing any of the three games. The Xperia 1 will know which game you are playing with the tips appearing on the left of the display, while the game continues on the right.
TheXperia 1 will cost around £849and it will be available late spring. You canread our initial review herefor more details on the device.
