Korean studio Shift Up announced two new games during the “Crank in Showcase” event on April 4,Project Eve, andNikke the Goddess of Victory.

Project Eveis a “Semi Open-World”, single-player action RPG headed to PC via Steam, Xbox One, and PS4. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world and is, citing the developers, inspired byNieR: Automataand the latestGod of War.Â

Project Evewill be a “Triple A global title” and is developed using Unreal Engine 4, 3D Scan Systems, Motion Capture and Face Motion Capture. A new team part of Shift Up, called “Second Eve Studio”, was formed to develop the game. Only around 10 people work onProject Everight now, but the team will rapidly grow to over 100 developers. The main brunt will be developers who used to work on Korean MMORPGBlade & Soul.

No release date estimate was communicated yet, but a teaser trailer along with the above screenshots were published.Project Eve’sofficial sitehas been opened as well, and it includes a recruitment page.

On the other hand,Nikke the Goddess of Victoryis an online co-op TPS set to release worldwide on iOS and Android in 2020. Shift Up is developing the game using their knowledge fromDestiny Child.Nikkeuses Live 2D version 3.3, along with 2.5 Paper Folding, in order to give life to its 2D characters. It seems like the game also includes a cover system similar to old school arcade games such asTime Crisis.

Nikke the Goddess of Victorystars an armed resistance group, fighting against metallic lifeforms which invaded Earth. Up to 4 players can play together, and the game will also include simple to use, one-hand only controls suitable for smartphones.Nikke’sofficial site has opened, and it also includes a recruitment page.

Studio Shift Up is led byKim Hyung Tae, who in the past was the character designer ofBlade & Souland theMagna CartaRPG series by Softmax. Kim Hyung Tae has a particularly recognizable style, which most of the time disregards realistic anatomy. He handles most of the character designs and illustrations of his company’s games, such as the mobageÂDestiny Child, which recently had acollaboration eventwith Koei Tecmo’sDead or Alive. Kim Hyung Tae also handlesProject Eve’s character design. Meanwhile,Nikke the Goddess of Victory’s character design is handled by another talented Korean illustrator,ÂKKUEM. Kim Hyung Tae and KKUEM are used to working together and know each other quite well: they are married.

NieR Automata’s Yoko Taro commented onProject Eveon Twitter, saying he is looking forward to it.
