Fans Express Frustration Over Drastic Shift inSex EducationSeason 4 Storyline
Fans had their hopes high, but it seems likeSex Educationseason 4 didn’t bring the laughs and love they were craving.
Now that the final season ofSex Educationhas finally been released, many people are unsatisfied with its storyline — claiming it shifted to darker and more serious. This season has also received lower scores, with a drop in audience score to 40%. An X user (@obrienvm24)wrote:
“So #SexEducation final season was kind of disappointing but at least we had more Ruby screen time and kind of her own storyline. Apart from that, this season finale was forgettable.”
Another user wrote on X user (@HenrysReviews23):
“#SexEducation Season 4 is sadly an underwhelming final installment for one of Netflix’s best. In a closing chapter that should focus on the shows favoured characters, relationships and threads, it instead finds itself focusing too much on new stories that don’t ever really develop.”
Here are a few posts on X that show a visible disappointment toward the season:
They broke up Otis+Ruby for Otis+Maeve only for them not to be endgame!!?!!I’m gonna go commit a felony cause wtf#sexeducation

Besides this, many are also happy about the increased timings of the character Ruby. But fans also claimed that the last season was a bit of a letdown. Why? Well, it focused more on new stories, and they felt it didn’t give enough love to the stories developing for the last three seasons.
