Best Blissey Movesets for Pokemon GO Gym Battles (PvE)
If you come across a Gym in Pokemon GO, there’s a good chance that there is a Blissey inside. It’s rare to find one without the other, and for good reason.
Best Offensive Blissey Pokemon GO Gym Battle Moveset
Blissey isn’t the best option to challenge Gyms with, but if you feel like a rebel, the best moves for it to learn are Pound and Hyper Beam. Blissey gains a Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) on both these moves since they are Normal-type. Unfortunately, Normal-type moves don’t deal super effective damage against anything, so you’ll still have a hard time in battle even with Hyper Beam’s great power.
Best Defensive Blissey Pokemon GO Gym Battle Moveset
Gym defense is where Blissey truly shines, or rather, dazzles, with its moveset of Zen Headbutt and Dazzling Gleam. While you’d usually opt for moves that get STAB for consistency, Blissey is better off with a Psychic- and Fairy-type move to help protect itself from the Fighting-type Pokémon that would damage it with super effective attacks. Go for Dazzling Gleam in place of Psychic to get extra type coverage over Dragon-type opponents instead of being boxed in with only Psychic-type attacks.
Best Blissey Moveset for the Pokemon GO Battle League (PvP)
Like its pre-evolution Chansey, Blissey just isn’t made for offense.If you still want to take your chances with Blissey in PvP, the best moveset it can have is Pound with Dazzling Gleam and Hyper Beam. Hyper Beam gets STAB and hits like a truck, even if it doesn’t ever do super effective damage. Dazzling Gleam gives Blissey much-needed coverage over Fighting-type opponents. Pound is used over Zen Headbutt since consistent STAB is preferable over occasional super-effective bonuses.
Is Wild Charge Good on Blissey?
If you evolve a Chansey into a Blissey during the Community Day event, it will learn the move Wild Charge. At first glance, it might seem like this is a great way to get more coverage onto Blissey.Unfortunately, Wild Charge lowers the user’s defense by two stages after it is used. Blissey thrives on its defenses, making Wild Charge a bad choice to keep. Electric-type is also only super effective against Water- and Flying-types, neither of which threaten Blissey naturally. Dazzling Gleam is still the best charge move for Blissey to learn.
