One of this summer’s most anticipated family movies has finally debuted a full-length trailer! Check-out the latest sneak peek from Disney’sPete’s Dragonwhich features spectacular never-before-seen footage of Pete’s dragon,Elliottin action. The film, which is a reimagining of Disney’s cherished family film from 1977, starsBryce Dallas Howard,Oakes Fegley,Wes Bentley,Karl Urban,Oona LaurenceandRobert Redford. The movie is directed by David Lowery, and opens nationwide on July 31, 2025.
Pete (Oakes Fegley) is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…Until she meets Pete.
And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to thedragonfrom Mr. Meacham’s stories. Disney debuted thefirst trailerin February, during ABC’sThe Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60TV special. Disney also previewed this remake during their CinemaCon presentation in April. Now we get to see Elliott take flight for ourselves in this exciting teaser of what’s to come.Pete’s Dragoncould be one of this summer’s last big hits at the box office, opening in theaters August 12, going up against Sony’sSausage Party, Universal’sSpectraland Paramount’sFlorence Foster Jenkins.
