Whenever I travel somewhere, I always have to bring both a charger formy smartwatchand my phone, which can be annoying when you’re trying to pack light. There are options likewireless charging padsor power adapters with multiple USB-C ports, but some of these take up even more space when you’re trying to pack lightly. Now, a new solution has been developed to make charging your smartwatch and phone at the same time easier and more convenient.
OnePlus has introduced anew SuperVOOC cablethat includes a USB-C port for charging your phone, a built-in POGO Pin connector for charging your watch, and a USB-A connector to connect to a charging block. This allows you to charge your phone andOnePlus smartwatchsimultaneously using just one cable, so you don’t need to pack multiple cords when traveling.
The cable is ceremoniously called the “OnePlus 2-in-1 SUPERVOOC Cable 8A 1.2M” and is available on the OnePlus store for $30. It measures 1.2 meters (120cm) and can charge your phone with up to 80W of power. When your watch is also connected, it charges your phone at 67W and your smartwatch at 10W simultaneously.
This cable is only compatible with OnePlus smartwatches because of its unique POGO Pin connector. If you were hoping to use your Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch with this cable, unfortunately, it won’t work with those devices.

When I first saw OnePlus' new 2-in-1 watch and phone charging cable, I was shocked. It’s so simple, yet genius. Why hadn’t anyone thought of this before? It turns out that someone has, andit’s NOMAD, which sells a “Universal Cable for Apple Watch” that combines an Apple Watch charger and a phone charger into a single cable. However, it costs $79, more than double the price of OnePlus' solution. In all fairness, it does offer up to 100W of charging, compared to the OnePlus' cable, which is 80W, and is slightly longer at 1.5m (150cm).
Hopefully, Apple will take a cue from OnePlus here and design its own 2-in-1 charging cable for both theApple Watchand iPhone. This will make traveling so much easier, and I’d use it at home all the time as well. It’s hard to believe there aren’t already hundreds of these types of cables available.
