Omni-Man in Invincible

In the seriesInvincible, Omni-Man, aka Nolan Grayson, was initially celebrated as an all-powerful superhero before the shocking revelation of his true identity as an alien villain. Omni-Man’s Powers Aren’t Enough To Defeat Thor

Omni-Man is introduced as a superhuman who possesses the strength, speed, senses, and stamina, that would put even Superman to shame. Backed byJ.K. Simmons’ powerful voice, the character effectively conveys a sense of fear. Since the debut of the first season ofInvinciblein 2021, there have been numerous theories and comparisons regarding the extent of his powers.

While Omni-Man often emerges victorious in most of these debates, many fans argue that it might be a challenging task for the Viltrumite to defeat Thor Odinson. For one, the God of Thunder has been fighting villains for far more years than Omni-Man can imagine. Thor also wields his mighty hammer, Mjölnir, and later, the Stormbreaker, which are weapons the superalien lacks.

Thor in his God-mode

While Thor was written with less power in the films compared to the comics, there were moments in the films that showed his true powers. Thor defeating Hela inThor: Ragnarokgave us the iconic fight sequence where he unleashed his godly form. InAvengers: Infinity War, fans got to see another iconic sequence — Thor’s arrival in Wakanda and his battle with Thanos’ army.

Thanos with all his six Infinity Stones couldn’t stop Thor from incapacitating him. However, Thanos managed to carry out his mission and escape, only to die at the hands of the mighty Avenger at the beginning ofAvengers: Endgame. In addition to his powers in movies, his comic book abilities include his connection to the Odinforce and his heritage with the Phoenix Force.

The All-Powerful Thor Has One Major Weakness Compared To Omni-Man

While Thor might outmatch most of Omni-Man’s abilities, there is one major weakness that sets the two apart. Most of the time, Thor’s cosmic powers emerge only when he is emotionally charged. His reliance on emotions can lead him to hold back his true strength. This is a significant disadvantage when facing a notorious villain like Omni-Man.

Furthermore, theInvinciblevillain is renowned for his durability and accelerated healing, and he will not go down easily during a fight. If these two formidable entities ever clash in some multiversal universe, it would undoubtedly be one long epic battle. Notably, theInvincible Season Oneclimax saw Nolan Grayson showing elements of emotional weakness. He ultimately abandons his mission to conquer Earth and returns to Viltrum, as he couldn’t bring himself to kill his own son.
