We thought the doorhad closed, but hope springs eternal as Bethesda hasannouncedthat mods are in fact now coming to the PS4 forSkyrim Special EditionandFallout 4, and the PS4 Pro will also launch November 10th with both of the titles supported.

We are excited finally to get modding to our PlayStation fans who have supported us for so long. Modding has been an important part of our games for over 10 years, and we hope to do even more in the coming year for all our players, regardless of platform.

Skyrim will have these features when it launches on October 28 and will receive mod support first. PS4 players can modify and create their own content by using the Creation Kitavailable here. You will not be able to upload external assets but will be able to use any assets that come with the game. Players can create a Bethesda account to browse and install mods for the game. After Skyrim is finished, Fallout 4 will be updated to support both mods and the PS4 Pro, to take advantage of the high powered features of the new console.

Bethesda then treated us to some new screenshots of the 4K renders for Skyrim.
