How to Upgrade Easter Egg Items to Gold
After obtaining the purple versions of the Laptop with Stickers, Imaginary Friend Drawing, and Science Journal, it’s time toupgrade them to gold rarity. To do so, head to the red zone center of the map.
There arethree purple triangleshidden throughout Old Town that point torunesthat you can shoot. If you shoot all three runes, lines will appear on the nearby buildings. Normally, thispurple triangle easter eggwould give you2000 Essence, a Flawless Aetherium Crystal, and a Legendary Aether Tool.If you have one of the relic items with you, however, you’ll be prompted to “perform the summoning” in the center of the ring. This will spawn a lot of Zombies plus a super strong boss Zombie after the initial horde. Defeating the boss Zombie will spawn aspecial reward riftwith the upgraded golden versions of each item.
You can see the locations of all three purple triangles markedon the map above. Keep your eyes on the ground to spot the purple triangles when you reach the marked areas, and remember that the corners of the triangle point to the runes that you need to shoot. Rinse and repeat until you have all three upgraded items.

With every golden item in your possession, head to the Dark Aether gate where theUnionstory mission begins. Place the upgraded golden items on the pedestals surrounding the gate. Each pedestal has an image showing thecorrect itemthat you need to place, and the icon will start to glow when you’ve put the right item down.
Once the items have been placed, a powerful Disciple namedMazoralwill spawn. Defeating Mazoral will unlock the new Dark Aether Rift and provide you with a Sigil so you can jump right in and start hunting for thenew Schematics added in this update.
