After linkingRumbla IslandtoShipshape Island,Mario and Luigiwill be tasked with getting a hammer that could break open the purple capsule that dropped on the beach. Your destination of choice is betweenRaynforst andTwistee Island, sinceWillma’s children,BillditandMaydit, can build the hammers you need. Billdit can be found onRaynforstand Maydit onTwistee, but the choice of which one to go to first doesn’t change the narrative of the story. In this case,Mario and Luigiwill set their course for Raynforst Island to find Billdit and get theHammers.
Get Ready for Mario & Luigi: Brothership with an Endearing Sea Shanty
With less than a week away from the latest entry in the Mario & Luigi franchise, Nintendo is prepping in one of the ways they know best.

OnceMario and Luigilaunch onto the island, there will be a Save Block on the upper right-hand side, so take the opportunity to utilize that. Head to the east and find the NPC next to Spritebulbs, which will come in handy during the later parts of the game. After moving north and gaining elevation, there is a Stone Cube on the right-hand side that Luigi or Mario can pick up. Bring it over to the right, past the green NPC, and pass the Cube over to either Mario or Luigi to move onto the higher platform. Jump onto the Stone Cube and continue to move east, where you will find green and red coins and a traveling merchant, who sells items and gear.
Head up the hill and pull the Turnip at the top, which will reveal itself to be Grampy Turnip. There are 18 of them throughout Concordia, so be on the lookout for those.
Charter forth (and north) to find the Golden Turnip where Mario and Luigi will need to collect the red and green coins. Continue on, and you’ll spot Billdit, whose flames burn ever so brightly against the dreary backdrop. He explains to Mario and Luigi that he would be happy to make hammers but won’t be able to until the Island is relinked with Shipshape Island. In order to accomplish this task, you’ll have to open the flower gate that is blocking the lighthouse.
Opening the Flower Gate
First & Second Button
There areFour Flower Buttonsthat need to be hit in order to open theFlower Gate. As you can see, there are roots and spiky vines blocking the paths to these buttons, which can be lowered using differentExclamation Blocksaround the area. To get to thefirst button, hit theorangeExclamation Button, then hit thepurpleone to open the eastern path. Continue up north and move to the east, where there will be anorangeExclamation Block behind some roots in the back. This will lower the roots blocking thesecond flower button.
Third Button
Around the area of thesecond button, spot the floatingL(Luigi) platform. Climb up to the ledge on the right side andcommandLuigi to jump on it, which will make anM(Mario) platform appear. Jump onto the assigned platforms until you make it over to the cascading coin section where thethird flower buttonwill be. Head west and find the ledge bars where the two vines protrude out of the side of the mountain. It is here that Mario and Luigi will reconnect with a lost friend of the Mushroom Kingdom:Toad.
Fourth Button
Toad explains how there are two other Toads in the area that need to be rescued. To hit thepurpleExclamation Block, useLuigi Logicto have him reach the ledge bar andcommandhim to hit the block. Talk withYellow Toad, then pick him up and toss him over toLuigi. TheGreen Toadcan be found on the bridge to the left of where Luigi is. In this part, use the Green Toad on thepressure platein order to get theStone Cube.
Once you toss the Stone Cube and Green Toad over toLuigi, make your way to the ledge near the pressure plate. After being lifted by Luigi, grab the Stone Cube, rescue thePurple Toadand press thefourth flower button. Make your way to theFlower Gateand head north to the lighthouse. In this section, performwall jumpsto ascend the lighthouse and access thePlug.
After relinkingRaynforst IslandtoShipshape Island, Mario and Luigi will reconvene withConnieand meet withBilldit, who will ferociously craft hammers for them (as well as set up shop on the Island too). With this new ability, head to the beach and hitXthree timesto open the capsule, which will free a skilled navigator of the seas namedArc. With this, Mario and Luigi will either head toTwistee IslandorFlorall Island.
