When theMarvelCinematic Universe kicked off in 2008 withIron Man, most fans probably wouldn’t have guessed that it would become such a huge franchise, on both the big and small screens. In just a few months,Phase Threewill kick off withCaptain America: Civil War, with the TV side growing as well, with ABC’sMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.andMarvel’s Agent Carter, along with Netflix showsDaredevil,Jessica Jonesand the upcomingLuke CageandIron Fist. One of theCaptain America: Civil Warstars,Jeremy Renner, revealed at Silicon Valley Comic Con (viaComicBook.com) that he would be open to starring in aNetflixseries centering on his character Hawkeye.

“I think that’s actually a really great model, if there’s ever a way to explore the character, maybe it’s in that world. These are things that are really not in my control, but I’d be open to it. I’ve really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you’re doing asuperhero movieor a Netflix or HBO kind of model. So I’d be open to it. Not up to me, though.”

Hawkeyewas first introduced in 2011’sThorin a brief cameo, before his first full appearance in 2012’sMarvel’s The Avengers. While he didn’t have a terribly large role inMarvel’s The Avengers, he was given a lot more screen time inAvengers: Age of Ultron, and inCaptain America: Civil War, he’ll be fighting alongside Captain America (Chris Evans) and his team members The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) andAnt-Man(Paul Rudd). Of course, afterCaptain America: Civil War, we don’t know where Hawkeye will show up next, but he’ll certainly be a part of the epic two-part adventureAvengers: Infinity War Part IandAvengers: Infinity War - Part II.

It’s also possible that Hawkeye could make an appearance in the 2018 sequelAnt-Man and the Wasp. We saw in the trailer that Hawkeye andAnt-Manmake a unique team, with the minisculeAnt-Manriding on the tip of Hawkeye’s arrow as it’s shot through the air. No official plot details have been revealed forAnt-Man and the Waspquite yet, withPaul Ruddco-writing the script alongside Gabriel Ferrari,Andrew BarrerandAdam McKay.

Since all of the Netflix shows are part of the MCU, it’s certainly possible that a Hawkeye show could work on the streaming service. We’ll have to wait and see what other movies in the MCU he’s confirmed for, and it isn’t even known if Marvel is interested in creating a series revolving around Hawkeye. Would you watch a new TV series withJeremy Rennerstarring as Hawkeye?
