Yesterday, Instagram took to its own photo-sharing service toannouncethat it’s working on a text translation for itsmobile app. The new feature will begin rolling out in the coming month.
A Translation button will appear on feed stories and profile bios if they’re written in languages different from your own. Captions and comments on posts in your feed and the bio on your profile will be translated automatically based on the language they’re written in and the language settings of the person viewing it.

“If translations aren’t showing up, it could be because we couldn’t detect or don’t currently support the language,” writes Instagram. “Keep in mind that translations also may not show up for older posts and comments”.
If your language is available as a translation, you will be able to tapSee Translationbelow the text to see it. To change the language that the Instagram app appears in, adjust your iOS device’s language inSettings → General → Language & Regionto select your iPhone’s preferred language.
It’s unclear which underlying service Instagram will be using for this feature.
