In a past interview with Oprah Winfrey for herO, The Oprah Winfrey Magazine, theCast Awaystar talked about his journey from a trustworthy lead star to the icon he is today. He also revealed the secret formula that he uses to choose his films in the industry, which he calls The Rule Of Three Es. Basically, he checks if the project he is being proposed consists of those three Es, which are Educate, Entertain, and Enlighten. If the film is fulfilling these three conditions for the audience, only then does he accept those proposals. He said:
“I try to do what I call the three E’s—educate, entertain, and enlighten. If you don’t entertain, no one will show up. But you also have to educate, because people want to discover specific things about a world unlike their own—whether it’s how hard it is to go to the moon or how scary it is to be on Omaha Beach. A story also has the opportunity to enlighten us, because as we connect the extraordinary moments on film with the ordinary moments of our lives, we ask ourselves, “What am I going to do the next time I’m scared? What would it be like to say goodbye to my family for the last time?”
With a lot of hard work mixed in with a clever bit of smart work, the star was able to become the icon of the Hollywood industry he is today.

Apart from the aforementioned technique that he uses to choose which project he will be a part of next, the star is also iconic for extrapolating and expanding on those ideals through the characters he portrays in his films.
