The most common place to find Tracktail Lizards is inAreas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains region. In Area 13, you can place a campsite at theOasisand fast-travel there to find Tracktail Lizards. You will find many of them near the Oasis, but you will have to go there during the daytime as they appear more often then.
Get on yourSeikretand roam the area, and you should soon find some Tracktail Lizards. You are looking forcreatures built like Otters and a long tail on which they can stand. They will always be in pairs next to each other and will stand on their tails to look around the area.
How to Capture Tracktail Lizards in Monster Hunter Wilds
The Tracktail Lizards are always aware of their environment and will run and hide in the sand if you get too close to them. You can capture the lizards using aCapture Net. Equip the Capture Net to yourHook Slingerand aim at the lizards. When theaiming reticle turns orange, shoot it to capture the creatures. However, you will have to get close to them for the aiming reticle to turn orange.
The trick to getting close to a Tracktail Lizard is to approach them with theGhillie Mantleactive to stay hidden and then shoot your Capture Net at the right time. Another way is to get close to them while riding on your Seikret and shoot the Capture Net as you go past them. However, this method is difficult as you have to be close and aim perfectly for the Capture Net to land.
