Hollow Knight: Silksonghas been taking longer to release than anyone could have imagined when it was announced in 2019. Now, in 2025, we still don’t have a release date. However, the past few weeks have been particularly interesting for those of us eagerly waiting for this highly anticipated metroidvania.

Last week, we reported that Microsoft had specifically mentionedHollow Knight: Silksongin an article on their official website as one of the upcoming games coming to Xbox. Now, we have another interesting update: the title has received a small update in the Steam database, something that hasn’t happened in quite a while.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is Preparing for Its Highly Anticipated Release

The two main updates found in this recent update are that the game is now listed as compatible with GeForce Now, and the copyright registration year has been changed from 2019 to 2025. This has raised the hopes of many players that this could finally be the year we get to play this long-awaited sequel.

Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen, but as they say, hope is the last thing you lose, and this update could be a good sign.
