Prepare to go back to the world ofGreasewith the upcoming prequel seriesGrease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. In the works at Paramount+, the series has just been given an all-new teaser by the streaming platform. The teaser highlights the stitching of one of the Pink Ladies' vests as aGrease-like tune plays along. Also noted is thatGrease: Rise of the Pink Ladieswill be coming to Paramount+ in 2023, and while a specific date isn’t named, the teaser says that the new series is “streaming soon.““Witness the rise.Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladiesis coming to Paramount+ in 2023,” theannouncement reads.
The new series is created by Annabel Oake (Atypical,Transparent), who also serves as writer and showrunner. Oake is also executive producing alongside Marty Bowen, Adam Fishbach, Erik Feig, Samie Kim Falvey, and Alethea Jones. Jones also serves as ad director on the pilot and additional episodes.
“We are thrilled to unveil our new original series that will introduce an incredible cast of young stars in the making and electrifying musical numbers you will fall in love with,” Paramount Television Studios & Paramount+ Original Scripted Series President Nicole Clemens previously said in a statement announcing the series. “Annabel and Alethea have managed to brilliantly capture the spirit of the iconic, beloved classic film which, likeRise of the Pink Ladies,is both set in the past but relevant to the present.”

Witness the Rise of the Pink Ladies
Set four years before the original feature film,Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladiestakes viewers to a time “before rock ‘n’ roll ruled and before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school. It follows four fed-up outcasts who dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.”
The cast of the series was also previously announced. The series stars Marisa Davila (Schooled) as Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells as Olivia, Ari Notartomaso (Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin) as Cynthia, Tricia Fukuhara (Dante Falls) as Nancy, Shanel Bailey (The Equalizer) as Hazel, Madison Thompson (Ozark) as Susan, Johnathan Nieves (Penny Dreadful: City of Angels) as Richie, Jason Schmidt as Buddy, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper (When They See Us) as Wally and Jackie Hoffman (Garden State) as Assistant Principal McGee.
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladieswill startstreamingon Paramount+ in 2023, with an exact premiere date yet to be announced.
