As a new trailer fromGranblue Fantasy Versus: Rising emerges online,Arc System Worksand Cygames reveal an upcoming online beta test for the game in May. While an exact release date is yet to be revealed for the beta, we do know that it will only be available onPlayStation 4andPlayStation 5consoles.
Aside from the beta, the new trailer also introduces Siegfried to the roster, a new fighter that will punish his opponents with the bitter taste of his sword. Although we are yet to see Siegfried in action, the new trailer did reveal his appearance with a brief quote from the character. Siegfried is voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue in Japanese and Jordan Reynolds in English.

The new character’s main weapon is his long sword which serves as a mid-range weapon that keeps the opponent at bay. According to the official description of Siegfried, “he can consume some of his health to activate Manigance, which gives him a temporary large boost to his attack power.”
Developed by the team behind theGuilty Gearfranchise, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is an upcoming sequel to Granblue Fantasy Versus. The game is supposed to be released sometime this year on PlayStation consoles as well asPC, but the upcoming beta won’t be available on PC.
The first iteration has been a quite successful launch for the developers as it has 82% of positive reviews on Steam with a “very positive” badge. The fact that the game combines RPG elements with the fighting genre makes Granblue Fantasy Versus a unique experience, next to its gorgeous anime-style visuals that Arc System Works is popular for.
WithStreet Fighter 6coming out in 2023 as well, the current year already seems quite exciting for fighting fans.Tekken 8is also in the works for a future release, though the game still doesn’t have a concrete release window.
As the release date for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is unknown yet, there is not much information available about the post-launch content and roadmap of the game at the moment.
