Facebook Messengerhas had the ability to share your screen for a bit of time now within a video call and in thenew-ish Messenger Rooms, but the feature hasn’t been available for mobile users. Until today.
The Facebook Messenger team hasannounced todaythat it is bringing the screen sharing feature to mobile users, which means it’s rolling out now for bothiOSandAndroiddevice owners. With this feature, Messenger users will be able to quickly and easily share their screens with a single person in a one-on-one call, or even in a group. In a video call, screen sharing can be done with up to eight people, while in Messenger Rooms it can be shared with up to 16 people.
Screen sharing lets you share a live view of your screen so you may share virtually anything together. Whether you want to share memories from your camera roll, shop together online, co-browse social media, and more — screen sharing makes it easy to stay connected and close with your loved ones, even when you’re physically apart.
The Messenger team also announced the support for screen sharing with up to 16 people in Messenger Rooms in the same announcement:
In addition to screen sharing on mobile and web, screen sharing is also available in Messenger Rooms with up to 16 people on web and desktop. We will soon add the ability to control who can share their screen in Rooms and expand the number of people you can share your screen with up to 50 within Messenger Rooms. With these new controls, Room creators will be able to determine whether to limit the ability to screen share to just themselves or make the feature available to all participants when creating a room and during the call.
With this rollout, screen sharing in video calls and in Messenger Rooms is available on iOS and Android, the desktop app, and on the web. If you want to use the feature, make sure you updateFacebook Messengerto the latest version.
