As you might expect,Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreetakes a lot from its base game. It’s not just the enemies and structured design, but also some of the items, such as theImbued Sword Key. Unlike the base game,Shadow of the Erdtreeonly houses a singleImbued Sword Key, taking the player to a faraway land in which there’s no escape outside teleporting away or dying to the solo enemy that lurks.
Castle Ensis
The portal that takes the player far away is located just south ofShadow Keepand directly north ofCastle Ensis. If you’re like us and bypassedCastle Ensisall together by taking the eastern route through theShadow Keep, you might be confused about where theImbued Sword Keymay be located. Thankfully, it’s close by. The player will need to progress through all ofCastle Ensisin order to find the Imbued Sword Key. If you come from the north, you can go down through the waterfalls or to the side of the back entrance to cut through half of the mobs that await.

In Elden Ring, Great Runes are special items that you can obtain by defeating specific bosses.
At this point, you will simply need to progress forward, unlocking the large gate. When you reach the long stretch along the top of the wall, you will eventually come across arickety staircasegoing up the tower. Follow this up, and you will notice a rather formidable foe with a colossal mace and a shield in the distance. Don’t move towards him, but instead turn around to find a small room inside the tower with an already-opened chest.
This chest will contain just what you’re looking for: TheImbued Sword Key. Now you have the option to simply teleport out, but since you’re already here, you may as well face the boss beyond the knighted guardian.
Through the Portal
Go outside and hug the small riverside area to the left. There will be a giant roaming about, but ignore him for now. On top of the small land will be a portal and where you need to insert theImbued Sword Key. The portal brings players to the AncientRuins of Rauh, but at the bottom most section of this luscious locale. And there you have it. There will be a single enemy found from the portal, alongside theVerdigris Discustalisman that will raise your defense with a higher equipment load.
