Throughout your adventures inElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, you will be treated to a number of side quests with varying rewards. One of the bigger and more rewarding side quests is for theHigh Priest, Count Ymir, who resides in theCathedral of Manus Metyrlocated on the eastern front, a little outside ofShadow Keep. The location seems a little ill fit for a man such as him, being rather ruined.
This man is one of the followers of The Fingers and will task the player with finding locations around the world and sounding the horn. Doing so will not only grant the player an enhanced version of an existing Talisman, but progress the story a little further.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: Global Release Time
Get yourself prepared to fight in the long-awaited Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Ymir will give the player aHole-Laden Necklaceand aRuins Map. It will be your objective to find where this raggedy map is pointing you and blow into the giant finger that’s shaped like a necklace. If you’ve already been exploring, you will know the first location can be found at theFinger Ruins of Rhia, all the way south of the map.
This is an empty location outside the handful of Fingercreepers moving about and a new enemy that shoots finger spells at you. A couple even cast a stun attack that has incredible tracking and will even summon one of the lesser enemies to try and eat you.
Get to the finger at the core of the Ruins and blow in it to receive aCrimson Seed Talisman +1, vastly raising your health pool. Upon doing this, you may return toYmirto let him know the good news. When talking to him, he will give players an important talisman:Beloved Stardust.
This is one of the best talismans for an INT build caster, at least for a glass canon, as it will increase your damage to the utmost while making you take more damage. Also, if you’ve been talking withJolaninside of Ymir’s chambers, she will slowly become fonder of you, even allowing you to summon her for the battle with Messmer.
Upon receiving the talisman and newRuins Map (2nd), you’ll be tasked with finding the second of the ruins. This one can be tricky as it requires access toThe Hinterlands, which has a little bit of a puzzle to solve to access.
To gain access, find theO Mothergesture located directly north of theBonny Village. Head to theBack GateofShadow Keepand use this gesture in front of the statue. This will give you access to theHinterlandsand to theFinger Ruins of Dheo.
Once more, get to the core of the ruins and blow on the giant hollowed out finger to give you theCerulean Seed Talisman +1, a decent talisman that will increase your FP to the utmost. After completing this, head on back toYmir, who, unfortunately, won’t give you a reward, but simply your next task.
Elden Ring: How to Respec
Called Rebirth in Elden Ring, the ability to Respec comes fairly early on in your adventure, and isn’t a big hassle. She’s just a medium-sized hassle.
If you look at theRuins Map (3rd)this time, it looks familiar. That is become it is the very Cathedral you are in. Simply return to a site of grace to rest and return toYmirto find the Count is gone. There will be a mechanical button on his throne which will unlock a secret passage below the Cathedral where you will be met with an invader: anotherSwordhand of the Night, similar toJolan. Dispatch him and move to the giant finger.
Unlike the other fingers, this one will teleport the player to a new location in which they will face off againstMetyr, Mother of Fingers, a rather formidable opponent. Kill it to receive theRemembrance of the Mother of Fingers, along with420,000 runesto spend.
Consequences
Head back to the Cathedral to seeYmirandJolanwho are now gone. It seems they are not pleased with your actions despite sending you on this errand to begin with. Approach the throne once more, but this time you will be met withJolaninvading your world. Take care of theSwordhand of Nightand this will immediately transition into a boss fight againstYmir.
Upon defeatingYmir, you will get hisYmir’s Bell Bearingif there were any spells you missed, alongside hisMaternal StaffandHigh Priest set, which includesHigh Priest Undergarments,High Priest Robe,High Priest Gloves, andHigh Priest Hat. Rest at a grace and talk toJolan,who you can use anIris of GraceorIris of Occultationon (the former granting you hersummoning ashes). And this brings a close to the side quests, one of the lengthier ones that has you running across the world.
