Marvel Rivalssoared into the hero shooter realm with a bang, which left quite a few DC fans wondering if those characters could achieve a similar feat. Consideringthere is official desireto mimic that success, perhaps it’s less about wondering if it could happen, and more about deciding which characters would fit the best.
10 Best Characters in Marvel Rivals, Ranked
Marvel Rivals boasts a large roster of characters to pick from, but some of them are far stronger picks than their peers.
There are hundreds upon hundreds of characters both popular and more underground that would be exciting to play with. Whether we get a game or not, let’s enjoy picking apart our favorite DC characters to see how well they’d hold up in a Marvel Rivals-like game. This is not an exhaustive list as DC features a healthy range of characters that can be included.

We did get a DC game with sprawling characters back in 2015 called Infinite Crisis. However, it was a MOBA that resembled League of Legends more than a hero shooter. The fact that it shut down the same year it launched shows that if DC were to enter the hero shooter genre, it would have to bring something different to stand out.
10Green Arrow
A Better Robin Hood
Suggested Role:Damage
Green Arrow is the charming, bow-wielding rogue who keeps up with the best of them in the Justice League. If you’ve played Marvel Rivals, Green Arrow would come across much like Hawkeye. He can stick to range, using specialized arrows to snipe enemies. Additionally, he should have high maneuverability compared to some other characters.
At the same time, Green Arrow can possess some hand-to-hand skills in aDC hero shooteras the character does know several martial arts. But he’ll work just as well when sticking to archery. Team Green Arrow has a few great characters that can play off him (we’ll touch on Black Canary in a section later):

King of the Sea
Suggested Role: Tank
Aquaman isn’t just useful for talking to fish (although thatwouldbe a funny in-game ability). His super-strength and tough Atlantean skin makes him work as either a Tank or a Damage role. He can make use of his Trident, and we can’t forget his command of the sea as it can work out well as some kind of Ultimate ability.
Another cool way we can see hydrokinesis in action is with Mera. She can stand in contrast to Aquaman by serving in a Support role, but she’s far from the only character connected to Aquaman who would work in the game:

Eht Tseb Sserecros
Zatanna Zatara is one of the strongest magic users in DC. Adding this sorceress to a hero shooter simply makes sense. She has elemental control, telekinesis, deflection, teleportation, and more. Likewise with Scarlet Witch in Marvel Rivals, there’s plenty to work with when designing her for the game.
A cool element about Zatanna is her manner of speech. She typically says her spells backward to focus them. However, she’s shown to be able to write out spells in blood (I recommend reading 2008 Justice League of America #24 to see it in action), and with her newest 2025 comic run, use sign language. It’s a great opportunity to explore something more unique with a character in a hero shooter setting.

7Gotham City Sirens
The Real Golden Trio
Suggested Role(s):Varies
Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy have tremendous opportunities in a hero shooter like Marvel Rivals. Catwoman and Harley would be close in terms of fighting style as they both work in a Damage role, offering close-up combat and ranged abilities thanks to their arsenal. Who wouldn’t want to run around the map swinging Catwoman’s whip or Harley’s signature hammer?
10 Hardest Characters To Use in Marvel Rivals
These Marvel Rivals characters demand perfect timing, insane game sense, and the patience of a saint.
With Ivy, we have a strong Support character. She can use her abilities to protect allies and offer up heals, and her plant control powers are useful for attacking multiple opponents at once, making her effective up close and on the backlines. As a bonus, the Gotham City Sirens can have some epic and entertaining team-up abilities.

6Birds of Prey
A Distinct Superhero Team-Up
Speaking of natural team-ups in the DC universe, Birds of Prey is a classic group that consists of various members. The core four tend to be Black Canary, Batgirl/Oracle, Huntress, and Lady Blackhawk. But as I said, various people have joined/left over the years. Big Barda is an exciting addition as the woman is clearly the Tank of the group. Black Canary, Batgirl, and Huntress can act as Damage dealers.
We can also enjoy some of these characters who have on-again/off-again appearances with the Birds of Prey:
They’re Not Just Sidekicks
Whether as the Teen Titans or their older versions, the group is a must-have in a DC hero shooter. Nightwing works much like Batman in a Damage role, using acrobatic skills to maneuver almost like he played in Arkham City. Starfire’s abilities can place her in a Support or Damage role, while Donna Troy rounds things out as a Tank.
Raven toes the line between Support and Damage. She has natural healing powers, but she also has a blend of magical and demonic abilities to devastate enemies. Cyborg and Beast Boy are wonderfully challenging thanks to their respective tech skills and changing abilities. Titans overall are diverse and offerendless team-up opportunities. Other members or antagonists can also play well with them:
4The Flash
The Fastest Man Alive
The Flash would undeniably require a nerf to work. Otherwise, no one would ever see him coming. But he can be effective in a hero shooter like Marvel Rivals. He can act as a Duelist, taking the fight to the enemy up close for good DPS but also being able to rush out of danger seeing as he should be a bit on the squishy side.
He can even be used in different ways from scouting to luring enemies out for the heavier hitters to jump in. Or could you picture his phasingabilitybeing used as an ability to temporarily make him immune to damage? And if we’re looking at his Rogue Gallery, there are a handful that would make the game even more exciting:
3Wonder Woman
The Amazonian Goddess
Suggested Role:Tank
Wonder Woman’s backstory fluctuates as often as any storyline, but whether she’s born from clay or is Zeus’ daughter, one thing remains: she’s one of the strongest heroines in comics. Our lasso-wielding Amazon could be a versatile Tank, using her raw power and weapons to control the fight.
9 Marvel Heroes Who Would be a Perfect Fit for Marvel Rivals
Marvel has hundreds of heroes, here are a few who should be included in Marvel Rivals!
She’d have high HP too to soak up damage while simultaneously dishing out powerful attacks. Also, she comes equipped with crowd-control abilities thanks to the lasso. Wonder Woman also has several fun characters that can join her whether on the hero side or villain side:
Man of Steel
Superman is another obvious go-to character in a Tank position, but he can stick more to the skies compared to Wonder Woman. He can, of course, attack up close, but a lot of his stronger attacks are ranged. Superman brings heat vision, shock waves, and even ice breath to the game.
He also brings great supporting characters and antagonists. Imagine him having team-up abilities with Lex Luthor, his on-again-off-again antagonist who would rock in either a Support role or a Tank role with his Warsuit. Besides him, Superman can feature these characters:
The Dark Knight
If theArkham seriesproved anything, Batman is exceptional in video game form. In one inspired by Marvel Rivals, he can be a tough Duelist. He lacks the HP of Tanks like Wonder Woman and Superman, but he makes up for it in dishing out continuous damage. Besides hand-to-hand, one of the coolest features of Batman could be using his array of gadgets to control the battlefield.
There’s also a good mixture of Bat-Family members and characters from Batman’s Rogue Gallery that would bring some more excitement to the table:
