Each character in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 hastheir own gimmick, which makes every battle more dynamic and forces us to devise all sorts of builds.
Monoco, my favorite Gestral, is the kind of character who uses enemy skills. You might know this concept from the Blue Mage Job inFinal Fantasyand other class variations across differentJRPGs.

Leveling up is just the beginning.
To learn new skills, Monoco needs to collect enemies' feet. Yeah, he’s one of those types. He learns skills simply by being in the party that defeats certain enemies in battle.
In total, Monoco can learn 46 different skills, not counting Gradient Attacks. In this Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 guide, I’ll show youwhere to find all the Nevrons that teach Monoco a skillby collecting their feet.

I’ll list the skills in the order I learned them in-game. So, if you want, use this guide as a walkthrough from when Monoco joins your party.
How To Learn A Skill With Monoco
To discover which enemies have skills, you need to see their HP bar, easily done by aiming at them with a weapon or targeting them with a skill.
A small icon will tell you whether the monster has a skill learnable by Monoco. However, there are two annoying caveats here.

First,Monoco must be in the party when the enemy is defeated. That means if by any chance the main party dies, and you win the combat with the reserve party without Monoco, he won’t learn a skill.
Second,if he’s not in the party, the learnable skill icon won’t show up besides the monster’s health. In other words, you’re forced tokeep Monoco in our lineupall the time if you want to learn every skill seamlessly.

There’s an endgame area called Endless Tower where you can find many—though not all—enemies and bosses that teach skills to Monoco in case you don’t want to be stuck with him.
To help you discover which skill you’re missing, below is a table simulating Monoco’s skill tree in-game. Hopefully, it helps you better locate yourself and to know which skills you need to complete Monoco’s arsenal:

Ramasseur Bonk / Cultist Blood
After Monoco joins your party, you’ll have two exits from Monoco’s Station. One leads you to the main objective, and the other to optional areas. Like any good JRPG player,go for the optional content.
You should take the exit closest to the Monoco’s Station flag, where the Grandis are, to return to the overworld. Then, keep walking across the map until you find a trio of Nevrons. The Ramasseur and the Greatsword Cultist will both teach Monoco new skills.
Troubadour Trumpet / Gault Fury / Démineur Thunder
In the overworld region located between Monoco’s Station and the Forgotten Battlefield northern exit, you’ll find a trio of Nevrons, all of which teach new skills.
Use the screenshot to guide yourself. You’ll see a Troubadour, a Gault, and a Démineur just waiting to have their feet rubbed and pass on their skills to Monoco.
Abbest Wind / Rocher Hammering
In the same area as the previous skills, look for another trio of unsuspecting Nevrons.
They’re a bit to the northwest of the Painting Workshop. Take out the Abbest and the Rocher to acquire their skills.
Jar Lampstorm / Cruler Barrier
Around the same region as previously, go to the southeast of the Painting Workshop, northeast of the Stone Quarry, to find yet another trio of Nevrons.
Jar and Cruler will teach new skills. Cruler’s skill is especially useful, and I highly recommend you pick it up as soon as possible.
Cultist Slashes / Luster Slices
Since we’re already in this region, why not nab two more feet?Walk to the shore northeast of the Stone Quarry to find three Nevrons.
10 Best JRPGs With Satisfying Summon Systems
Whether it’s building up your party or striking down foes, everyone loves a good summon in their JRPG.
The Cultist and the Luster will be waiting for the foot maniac to teach him two brand-new skills.
From the Stone Quarry shore, dive in with Esquie and swim to the southern landmass, where the Boat Graveyard is located.
There are three lonely Nevrons here, so put them out of their misery and, in the process, learn the cloudy Potier’s skill.
Bruler Bash / Chevalière Piercing
Now, let’s tread back to the main story. After Monoco joins your party, your next destination is the northwestern exit from the Station.
In the overworld region that leads you to Old Lumière,you can see a Gestral Beach to the southwest if you open the World Map.
If you swim with Esquie just beyond the Gestral Beach, you’ll reach another shore with a Gestral Merchant and three Nevrons. The Bruler and the Chevalière among them have some tasty feet for you.
In the Old Lumière region, if you head all the way west, you’ll spot a giant Nevron on the horizon. If you choose to fight it, it’ll be accompanied by a Danseuse, who teaches a new skill to Monoco.
I’ve seen the Danseuse in other locations, so if the Bourgeon is too tough, don’t worry—you’ll get that beautiful dancer’s foot eventually.
Portier Crash / Hexga Crush
As you walk toward Old Lumière,you’ll run into a rocky Nevron with crystals sticking out of its body.
Engage in battle because both it—called Hexga—and another enemy in the same fight have skills for Monoco.
