I’m always wondering whether new games are compatible with my Steam Deck. For instance, can I play Alan Wake 2 on the Steam Deck?
Remedy Entertainment’s sequel to the Alan Wake series is a survival horror game that may intrigue Steam Deck users, so let’s find out if it’s Steam Deck compatible.

Is Alan Wake 2 Steam Deck compatible?
Unfortunately, you can’t play Alan Wake 2 natively on the Steam Deck. On the other hand, you can certainly find ways todownload the Epic Games Store and play the game through that. It takes some diligent research and time, since there are some methods of getting the Epic Games Store on your Steam Deck.
Sadly,Alan Wake 2 is exclusive to the Epic Games Store, at least for now. In the future, the game could possibly launch on other platforms like Steam, but if you want to play it on a PC or Steam Deck, it must be through the Epic Games Store.

As someone who has the cheapest Steam Deck, I personally wouldn’t even attempt to play this game on mine. Of course, give it a shot if you really want to, but I doubt it would run the way you’d like it to. This is especially true because it’s not even native to Steam.
Otherwise, Alan Wake 2 is technically not compatible with the Steam Deck, but there are workarounds out there online that may (or may not) get the game working on your handheld device. If all else fails, there’s always the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S though.
