Boruto episode 281 recap

What Happened Previously On Boruto?

Boruto meets with Yatsume and Rokuro after they wake up from Genjutsu, after which they explore the Ouga’s complex. They then get separated due to the complexity of Ouga, and Rokuro escapes with the help of the map that Yatsume got from Ouga’s first spy. Boruto meets with Yatsume again and finds her in control of the parasite released by Rokuro.

As Rokuro approaches the exit, he is attacked by the Ouga, and meanwhile, Boruto sees the parasite taking over Yatsume’s body and learns that they are still trapped in the second layer of Genjutsu. He still manages to figure out a way to escape, which infuriates Yatsume and she drops her charade and reveals herself as the real Ouga. She is also the Cyborg of Amado, known as the eighth Inner of Kara. Boruto instantly recalls the incident of Jigen’s death at the hands of Koji Kashin at the same place, revealing the place to be Kara’s headquarters.

She then explains herself, telling how she was created by increasing her mental abilities so she could assist in the research work. And to find a will to live, she started experimenting with people. Ouga tells Boruto to kill her in order to escape the Genjutsu and wake the others up, but Boruto resists killing her. The Genjutsu starts collapsing, and Boruto tells her to find a reason to live. Meanwhile, everyone is awake and alive, and in a letter left behind by Ouga, she promises to meet Boruto someday while she leaves to follow her dreams.
