A Decade of Bloodborne on PS4

It’s a peculiar situation that has frustrated fans for years, especially when other projects have received enhanced versions for the console and even for PC and Steam Deck.

Until Dawn Remake, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, The Last of Us Part I, and The Last of Us Part II Remasteredare just a few examples, with the upcoming Days Gone Remastered also on the way.

Despite hints, hopes, tweets, and even theories from former executives, FromSoftware’s game remains locked on PlayStation 4, and there’s no sign of it coming to another platform anytime soon. In reality, its most dedicated fans aren’t asking for much.

They simply want a remaster, remake, or update of Bloodborne for PlayStation 5—nothing more. Some still hold onto hope, but many others have given up and moved on.

What Fans Really Want

Debating the best game from a studio like FromSoftware is no easy task. After all, this is a company that has made history in recent years—not only by redefining action RPGs but also by maintaining an exceptional level of quality in its releases, something rarely seen in the industry.

There are countless reasons whyBloodbornehas become many players’ favorite FromSoftware title, but if there’s one key to its success, it’s undoubtedly its atmosphere.

Despite being an unquestionable masterpiece, Bloodborne wasn’t free from criticism. Players found character customization to be more limited compared to other FromSoftware games.

Likewise, the Chalice Dungeons, which were procedurally generated and shareable with other players, failed to fully convince fans due to their monotonous and repetitive design.

Why Bloodborne Deserves a New Version

The biggest complaints were related to its technical performance, which suffered from noticeable stuttering and painfully long loading screens that ranged between 30 and 40 seconds.

This was especially frustrating in a game where death is frequent, and every respawn or visit to the Hunter’s Dream meant waiting through another lengthy loading screen. Additionally, the resolution wasn’t particularly high, preventing its stunning art direction from fully shining as it should have.

Steam

For all these reasons,Bloodbornedeserves to make a grand return with a new version that takes advantage of the technical capabilities ofPC and PS5.

Even if the improvements were limited to 4K resolution, 60 FPS, and instant loading times, it would still make a huge difference, making the game far more enjoyable today than it was 10 years ago, thanks to PS5’s backward compatibility with PS4, we can still play this incredible game.

However, we believe that such a remarkable, unique, and important work deserves a special treatment—something we know we’re not alone in thinking. It’s that shared belief that keeps the hope alive that one day, in the future, this long-standing dream of so many hunters will finally come true.
