The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the 2006 Game of the Year, will return in just a few hours in the form of a remake for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Fans of the RPG franchise are absolutely losing it in anticipation.

It was one of gaming’s worst-kept secrets, so it won’t be a “shadow-drop” launch as previously rumored.

Via their official Twitter account,Bethesdahas announced that the reveal of Oblivion Remastered will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, June 02, 2025, and the time is already set.

When and Where to Watch the Reveal

It will air at 5:00 PM (CET) as a livestream presentation on Bethesda’s officialYouTube and Twitchchannels.

And barring a major surprise,Oblivion Remasteredwill be available for purchase (and also onGame Pass for Xbox, PC, and xCloud) right after the stream ends.

Over the past few days, tons of details about the remake have leaked: editions, pre-order bonuses, key art, platforms, and, of course, the identity of the developer: Virtuos, the same studio currently working onMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Visual Upgrades & Engine Choice

Comparison images between the 2006 version and the remake have also surfaced, leaving some fans questioning the artistic direction chosen withUnreal Engine 5.

The Oblivion remake is more “gray” and muted than the original, though it will include improved lighting and shadow effects, along with a clear upgrade in textures and resolution.

It’s not officially confirmed, but the latest rumors suggest that all cosmetic DLCs and the two major expansions—Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles—will be included in the package.

The file size ofOblivion Remasteredhas also leaked, and we can tell you now: make room, because it’s set to be one of Bethesda’s largest games to date.
