Colliderspoke withBen Affleckon the set ofJustice Leaguelast week, where he teased that Warner Bros. does have a release date in mind for his solo Batman movie, but he doesn’t think he can make that date. The actor/filmmaker also teased that he doesn’t want to move forward until the script is completely ready. Here’s what he had to say.

“I think they have a date for it. Although, I don’t know if I would necessarily be able to make that date because I don’t have a script that’s ready yet. So that’s my-my timetable is I’m not going to make a movie until there’s a script that I think is good because I’ve been on the end of the things when you make movies when you have a script that’s not good yet and it doesn’t pan out.”

Ben Affleckis co-writing the script withGeoff Johns, but no story details have been revealed quite yet. There have been rumors that the story will feature a number of iconic villains, except for The Red Hood, but that hasn’t been confirmed. Here’s whatBen Affleckhad to say about where they are at in the scripting process.

“I have a script, we’re still working on it, and I’m not happy enough with it yet to actually go out there and make aBatman movie, for which I have the highest of standards, I would say. That’s something that would have to pass a very high bar for me. It’s not just like, ‘Yeah, that might be fun, let’s go try this out.'”

Ben Affleckis currently filmingJustice Leagueat Leavesden Studios in the U.K. and he’s also in post-production on his latest directorial effort,Live By Night, which is set for release on July 30, 2025. It isn’t known when the script for thisBatman rebootwill be ready, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted with more updates. Regardless of when it’s ready, it seems this newBatmanmovie will be hitting the big screen at some point in the next few years.
