Assassin’s Creed Valhalla fans are up for a small treat this coming week. Along with the 1.5.0 patch comes a new difficulty, Dawn of Ragnarok DLC support, and a Free Trial Weekend.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gets Patch 1.5.0 and Free Trial Weekend
Ubisoft’s Open World Viking Exploration and Pillaging simulator, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, is still receivingpost-launch updates. Coming this August 02, 2025, isTitle Update 1.5.0. Along with the usual bug fixes and enhancements comes the foundations for the Dawn of RagnarokDLC, which is coming on March 10. Players will also be getting a new difficulty mode as well as some tweaks to Stealth.
These new enhancements were already teased by the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account back on February 19. This is the first time that the completed details have been shared, however.
Title Update 1.5.0 will be deployed on February 22 at 7 AM EST or 4 AM PST. The patch will range from 3.6 GB (on the PlayStation 5) to 12.27 GB (on the Xbox Series X|S).
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Saga Difficulty Mode
Players who aren’t too interested in challengingcombatand would rather focus on the story will enjoy this new mode. Titled the “Saga Difficulty”, this new mode takes the pressure off the combat and is basically “story mode”. This is quite different from Odyssey, as that game received aNightmare Difficulty mode.
This new difficulty will make it so that enemies don’t scale to the player’s level anymore. They will also deal less overall damage. Stealth kills will also become easier to pull off as enemy reaction times are being slowed down. Combat and Stealth difficulties can both be independently changed from each other. You can make it so that Stealth is insanely difficult to execute, but when a fight actually breaks out you’d be more than capable of handling it.
Aside from the set difficulty levels,Assassin’s Creed: Valhallawas known for allowing players to fine-tune their experience. Players could customize their UI with the Exploration Difficulty. Modifying this setting would reduce the number of markers appearing in the game world. New options for tweaking both ofEivor’sincoming and outgoing damage are being included into the game. You can now also modify the health regeneration and healing rates.
These accessibility features are definitely welcome so that players can craft the perfect Viking experience.
Dawn of Ragnarok DLC

Aspreviously reported, the newest addition to the world of Valhalla will be the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC. This DLC wasteased via Twitterback in December.
Instead of playing as Eivor, players will now take up the mantle of Odin, the Allfather and Norse God of Wisdom. Odin then attempts to rescue his son, Baldr. He will face many new mythical foes, such as the fire giant Surtur.
Along with the new story, there will now be Divine QualityEquipmentandWeaponsavailable. This will be spread across 3 tiers of upgrades and will let players equip a new special rune.
If players are just getting into Valhalla, and want to skip forward to Dawn of Ragnarok, they have the option of doing so. New players will have access to a player boost. This will have players start off at Power Level 340, and be fully equipped to be one with Odin.

As a mythical figure, Odin will have access to magical powers that Eivor can only dream of wielding. The Allfather will be able to transform into a Raven at will, teleporting himself right next to enemies to perform stealth executions. He will also have the option to resurrect fallen enemies to fight for him.
Lastly, he will also have the power to tap into both frost and flame. Magma can engulf Odin, protecting him from enemy attacks. He can also infuse his weapon with ice so that he can use a myriad of frost-based abilities.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Free Trial Weekend
There is also going to be a Free Weekend Event fromFebruary 24 (Thursday) to February 28 (Tuesday). This will let players access Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for free during these dates. It hasn’t been specified by Ubisoft if they will be able to play only the base game or if the trial will include the DLC.
