While Ana de Armas will be following up her action heroine role in Ghosted with an equally explosive appearance as the lead ofJohn Wickspin-offBallerina, the actress has said she really wants to try other things in future. Although she has walked back a little on her comments, she has made it clear that she doesn’t want to just be seen as a kick-ass action girl. She previously said:

“After Bond, there was kind of a wave of all these action roles, and that was fun. I chose from the ones that I thought were more exciting or with people I wanted to work with. I feel like Ballerina is going to be the end of that, at least for now, because I’m craving a wave of Blonde-type films. I want to do work with directors and do character work. I have had the opportunity to meet directors that I want to work with. The people that I’m getting access to is changing, and that makes me very excited.”

Wonder Woman

However, with the DCU only just getting started with its new slate of movies and TV shows, and Marvel ready to start developing their rebooted X-Men franchise, there are going to be plenty of roles for Ana de Armas to be considered for in the future. There really is no need for the actress to rush into one particular role quickly, and it seems like when it comes to the role of Wonder Woman at least, she is more than happy to leave it to the current owner of the Lasso of Truth to hold on to the position for a little while longer.
